How To Get Rid Of Fleas

Have you ever wondered why most flea control devices just don’t seem to work on your pet in many cases? Fleas can become quite a hassle for many pet owners as with any infestation, however, many pet owners will try all of the flea collars and more and do not see results. Why is this? In most cases, it is simply because the right flea control products are not being used in the right way and at the right times.
When we say “right time” we mean that all pets must be treated at the same time, not one now one later.
There are not too many products out there that can be purchased over the counter that will be as effective as the flea control products purchased from a vet, besides that of the mighty Frontline flea control products.
Assuming that you have checked your pet for flea feces in their fur (place white wet paper beneath them and ruffle their fur causing specs of feces/dried blood from flea waste to drop down), in order to properly get rid of fleas in your house, it is important to first take care of the pets.
We recommend a flea shampoo for all pets in the house, then apply flea control product to the pets skin effectively.
Flea control products such as Frontline are very effect as, once applied, they will absorb into the pet’s body and will become effective for about a couple months.
In order to apply your flea product properly, you must apply it in a spot where your pet will not scratch or groom themselves. In addition, they must not have any contact with water for a few days as the liquid absorbs in their skin and body.
Even though flea collars are easily obtainable and take less work, they are not nearly as effective as a product such as Frontline flea control.
A flea collar is indeed a good thing to have as it does have some effectiveness, as well.
Once you have taken care of your pets, the next step will be to clean the indoor environment through spraying the house using IGR spray and leaving the house closed up without any pets in the house and then cleaning the carpets with flea control carpet cleaner then vacuuming.
Be sure to concentrate on the areas where the pets spend most of their time as this is where the fleas will obviously be once the eggs dry and fall off the pet’s body.
A few hours after spraying the house with IGR spray, it should be ok to open the windows and allow the pets to come back inside.
We do recommend speaking with your medical professional and pet’s veterinarian in regards to the specifics of the flea control products and how you should apply them to your individual pet and household.
